Michael,

Excellent Point.

A great first step is having a "fair contract".

The next big step to success is to deliver a business model that makes money for all stakeholders and provides franchisees with a suitable foundation for which to grow.

Beverage is a good margin business and I am hopeful Cuppy's is structured correctly so everyone has a fair share of that margin.

Thanks for your comments

Jim;

It is important to distinguish between two types of franchises: those with sufficient operating history and an active franchisee association to be capable of being awarded the Seal, and those without such a history, which can only be Accredited.

The difference is that the grade for the latter is based only on the contract, while the grade for the former is based on the contract, culture, and the affirmation of 75% or more of the franchisees.

Cuppy's is off to a great start, and let us hope that their franchisee association gets the system the rest of the way to the Seal.
